Here we are! Show #100! Seems like just yesterday we were doing #1 or even #10. It’s been a long road we’ve traveled together and we’re looking forward to several hundred more.
For our 100th show, we have a very special guest. He started out as just a “superfan” for The Less Desirables. In fact, TLD calls him “Superfan Damien.” He’s Mr. Damien Paris and he’s also a big fan of our show (at least he acts like it). He sits in while we talk about our latest topic. A few weeks back a new billboard went up on Business 40 in Kernersville and it has set some folks off. The billboard reads: “Real Men Provide. Real Women Appreciate It.” Rumors abound about who it was that put it up, what their intention was. Some say we’re heading back to the 50s with that or there’s new thoughts that it was a group of fathers that pay child support but their exes or the mothers of the children don’t allow the men to see their kids. We haven’t heard for sure what the deal is, but upon that first day we heard about it, we had to discuss it. It now reads another jab at people who are protesting or complaining about it. We don’t harp on that sign per se, but we discuss the concept of what we perceived it to be in our everyday lives. Damien chimes in a good bit, too. We like that.
The show was recorded in the new Test Pattern Studios. Test Pattern is located at 701 N Trade Street in good ol’ WSNC. Check out the Test Pattern page for more on their happenings.
The Beer Dads’ beer of the week is Golden Ale by Triangle Brewing (where TLD first met Damien).
