Show 195 – The Social Distance
In this “Now Normal,” in which pretty much everyone that isn’t considered “essential” is working from home, some are bored, some are getting cabin fever, some are just relaxing and taking in the time away from others. The Beer Dads practiced their best “social distancing” for this episode. Beer Dad Tim was in the studio, alone. Beer Dads Jon and Paul were in their own homes and we did what we could, drinking whatever beer we had available to us at the time and talking about how we’re dealing with the “situation.” Dad Paul is still doing his work remotely, Dad Jon is too, but also doing a lot of teleconferencing (as his job is important to the apartment communities and their tenants). Dad Tim has been working with Lea Metz to keep the WSNC public informed of what restaurants are open and available for takeout, curbside or delivery and as a hub for resources from unemployment, SBA loans, latest updates from the CDC about the pandemic and more. There’s even a directory of museums that you can “visit” for free. All this is on a brand new resource website called “Winston-Salem Strong.” Check out the website here.
The Beer of the week is whatever could be found in the fridges where they were.
